How to Sponsor a Drummer
How to Complete an Online Sponsorship Form
- You will receive from a registered Drummer a link to an online Sponsorship form. Please complete the form as directed. The Sponsorship file for the Drummer’s community will be automatically updated.
How to Make a Donation
- Cash can be given to the participating Drummer or handed in at a local United Church. Please provide your mailing address if you wish a tax receipt and indicate the name of the Drummer you are sponsoring.
- Cheques can be given to the participating Drummer, handed in at a local United Church or mailed to The United Church of Canada, The United Church of Canada, 3250 Bloor St. West, Suite 300, Toronto, ON, M8X 2Y4. Please indicate ‘Drumathon’ and the name of the participating Drummer on the subject line on your cheque.
- Online donations can be made on the United Church’s website here.
- Please select The Dondi Project and enter ‘Drumathon’ and the name of the participating Drummer in the message box.
Receive a Tax Receipt
- All donations are eligible for a charitable tax receipt providing a name and mailing address are provided.
Become a Drummer
- If you wish to participate as a Drummer in the Drumathon, please select For Drummers.

How to Register to Participate
Find a Drumathon Community
- Click on the map to find the Drumathon Community nearest to you. The map is updated regularly as new Communities register. If you can’t find a nearby community, contact your local Area Coordinator or National Drumathon Coordination Team.
Complete a Drummer Registration Form
- Complete the online Drummer Registration form provided by your Drumathon Animator or select this link and complete the form provided and send to your Drumathon Animator, or email to dondidrumathon@gmail.com.
Link to an Online Sponsorship Form to Send to Sponsors
- When you register, you will receive a Sponsorship form. Send the online Sponsorship form to anyone you hope will make a donation in support of your participation in the Drumathon. When a Sponsor completes this form, the Sponsorship file for your community is updated, OR
- Download and print the manual Sponsorship form. Complete one entry for each donation collected. This form and related funds should be submitted to your Drumathon Animator.
Recruit Sponsors
- Parents, teachers, kids, friends and neighbours are all potential sponsors. Don’t forget to ask your sponsors if they are interested in participating as Drummers.

- Refer Sponsors to the Dondi Project website or to your Drumathon Animator
Collect and Submit Donations
- Donations in the form of cash or cheque should be collected and submitted to your local Drumathon Animator or church Treasurer before October 1, 2010. Donations can also be sent directly to the National Drumathon Coordination Team at United Church at 3250 Bloor St. W., Suite 300, Toronto, ON, M8X 2Y4.
- Please include your Sponsorship list so that the donations can be attributed to you.

Step 1 - Identify Your Drumathon Community
- Talk with your local church leaders about what group will plan and host a local Drumathon event for your community. Each community will be identified and tracked separately, even if they share a venue with another community.
Step 2 - Register Your Drumathon Community
Step 3 - Recruit and Register Drummers
- When you register your Drumathon Community, you will receive an customized online Drummer Registration form to send to all those you hope will participate. As each Drummer completes the Drummer Registration form, an entry is made in the Drummer Registration file for your Community. A manual Drummer Registration form is also available for listing participating drummers.
- Customize the Sample Letter for Drummers to send to those you hope will participate as a Drummer in the Drumathon. Consider people of all ages and abilities. Those who chose not to participate may be willing to donate.
Step 4 - Promote Your Local Drumathon and Support Drummers
Collect and Submit Funds and Forms
- Drummers will submit funds to their local Drumathon Animator as they are collected. Drumathon Animators will track and submit collected donations as they are received. All funds should be submitted to your local Treasurer or directly to National Drumathon Coordination Team at United Church of Canada, 3250 Bloor St. West, Suite 300, Toronto, ON, M8X 2Y4.
- All printed forms to be submitted are to be sent by mail to your National Drumation Coordination Team at Box 93, West Guilford, ON, K0M 2S0, or by email to dondidrumathon@gmail.com
